Meditations on Joyful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary – The Nativity

As our Mother Mary did,
as she was supported
by her husband, Joseph,
we have no other choice,
but to bear our Good News of Jesus Christ
into our world.

Just as there was no room in the inn
that holy night,
we, too, will experience
rejection upon rejection
of the truth we carry
of our Lord’s presence in us.

Joyful-Nativity

Too often, there will not be enough room
in people’s hearts,
nor in their lives,
for your story of Jesus.
Many will shunt you off to the side
in their ignorance
or their disbelief or
their lack of faith.

But, just as with Mary,
we will bear The Good News of our Lord,
nonetheless, into our world.
Through us into others’ worlds.
Into their experience.

Despite their rejection or their unknowingness.
Yet, God alone chooses those hearts whom
He will touch, soften, and prepare
to receive Him and to hear His voice.

At first, you may need to keep your story
of His work in your life hidden,
protected, pondering it in your heart
in its infancy and its vulnerability.

But soon enough,
you will present Him to your world.
Give Him away. Expose Him as yours
for the salvation of others.

He, who lived and died
and rose again from the dead,
will be made known to others
through you.

And those, whom He has chosen,
will know and believe
that He has conquered their sin
and ransomed them to be His own.

Peace be with you.

God will take it from here.
He will bless and multiply all your gifts,
according to His Will.

As they each publish, these meditations can be found at Rosary Meditations Library. If you follow my blog here (which I hope you will! just find the ‘follow’ button on this page and fill out the form), you will receive an email alert whenever I post.

The Meditations Library has some additional resources that you may find helpful, including a publication schedule for future Rosary meditations.
The Bible readings most associated with each mystery (plus a few more, which helped me with additional context) will eventually be added there. And, I have described the mechanics of how I pray with these medications.

You can also find me at Walking With My Brother at Substack, which allows people to subscribe and contribute to the writing they value. Be assured, you will always be able to subscribe for free.

If any of you wishes to show your appreciation, I will pass all funds received on to renovation efforts of St. Mary’s of the Seven Sorrows, the oldest church still standing in Nashville, TN. Located in downtown, St. Mary’s is a precious historical gift to Nashville natives and visitors, alike. Unfortunately, its physical condition is in dire need of major renovation and repair. It would be an honor to pass along any contributions we receive to aid in sustaining this bit of church history in Nashville.

No matter where you manage to find me online, I hope you will drop me a line at maryadrienne2013@gmail.com and let me know you’re there. I would love to include you in my prayers and ask that you offer a prayer for me, too, as together, we honor our Holy Mother and her Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Joyful Mystery of the Presentation is next up. It will publish on Saturday, December 16. Until then, I pray our Lord surrounds you in His peace, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
