My Easter Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I confess a life lived
So rowdy and raucous,
That I too often miss Your call;
So self-centered,
That I am too often callous to Your touch.
Help me, Father, on this Holy day to
So empty myself of sin
That You may find room in me for Your purpose.
On this day I pray that You
Fill me so full of Your patience
That I am relieved of my impulse.
Fill me with such gratitude for Your grace
That my presumption can find no room.
I pray that You so strengthen my faith in You, Father,
That my fear of life
Withers and dies in the face of Your love.
In Christ’s name I pray.
