It’s not your wealth I want so much as your heart.
Prayers for the poor and needy are powerful…
For them certainly, because I hear them and I answer.
I am faithful.

But even more, your prayers for the poor are powerful for you, for your goodness, for the sweetness and beauty of your generous heart.

Similarly, I have no need of your human wealth. I only ever ask you for it because it’s where my creatures have often hidden their hearts, enslaving themselves to the comforts of the world.

In giving away your wealth or in bringing it to me, you’ll often find me waiting for you, ready to bless and soften your heart.
